We offer support and therapy tailored to your needs. The relationship of client and counselor is the single most important factor in successfully addressing addiction. Our strategies include:

One on one support for individuals who wish to address problematic use of alcohol and other drugs

Using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) , motivational interviewing, and 12 Step facilitation

Recovery Case Management to support transition from treatment, including regular individual sessions, coordination of services, monitoring and employment and financial coaching.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. We approach our treatment from a Biblical worldview, recognizing that each individual has infinite worth and value and deserves to be heard and supported. We work with clients to address any maladaptive, or faulty, thinking patterns which cause maladaptive behavior and “negative” emotions. Maladaptive behavior is behavior that is counter-productive or interferes with everyday living. When necessary, we combine CBT with other therapies to achieve the desired outcomes for the client. Clients may be required to complete homework in between sessions.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
At The Healing Place, rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) begins with Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. REBT uses a process called “disputing”, where the therapist works with a client to examine the evidence for and against irrational beliefs before identifying alternative, more rational ways of thinking.
Recovery Case Management
We partner with our clients to assist them in coordinating the care they are receiving by connecting them with a variety of resources in the community. We help clients understand the services available to them to support the counseling process.
